Where connections live

Open Capabilities → Apps. Each app has a row with its connections. A badge on the row sums up the app’s state:
  • No badge - nothing connected yet. Use Connect on the row.
  • Connected - at least one enabled, healthy connection is live.
  • Needs attention - a connection is not healthy; open it and select Reconnect to re-authorize.
  • Off - connections exist, but every one is paused with its enable switch.

Connect an app

  1. Select Connect on the app’s row.
  2. OAuth apps (GitHub, Google, Linear, Notion, Slack) send you to the provider’s authorization screen. Read the requested permissions and organization context before approving; the scope granted is defined by the provider, not by Brightstack.
  3. API-key apps (Cursor) ask for a name and the credential the provider issued.
When the row shows Connected, the connection is live.

Manage or disconnect

Each row lists its connections with an enable switch and a Manage dialog. Turn the switch off to pause a connection without deleting anything. Select Disconnect (on the row or in the dialog) to drop it: agents lose its tools immediately, and connecting again later starts from scratch.

Good to know

  • Connections are per organization. A badge describes the org you are in, not your personal account.
  • An app row with connections shows Connected, Needs attention, or Off. No badge means nothing is connected yet.
  • Connected means at least one enabled, healthy connection is live. Off means every connection is paused.
  • GitHub, Google, Linear, Notion, and Slack connect through OAuth. Cursor connects with an API key.
  • The scope granted is defined by the provider, not by Brightstack.
  • Disabling a connection pauses it without deleting anything. Disconnecting drops it: agents lose its tools at once, and reconnecting starts fresh.
