A project groups related issues into one initiative: a feature, a launch, a cleanup. The project carries the shared facts (lead, dates, status); the issues carry the work.

Create a project

  1. Open Plan and select Projects.
  2. Select New project.
  3. Add a name and a one-line summary.
  4. Pick a status: Planned, In Progress, Backlog, Completed, or Cancelled.
  5. Optionally set a Lead, a Start date, and a Target date.
  6. Select Create project.
Status words differ between objects. A project is Completed; an issue is Done.

Watch it on the roadmap

The Roadmap tab turns the same projects into a timeline. Zoom between Week, Month, Quarter, and Year. A marker shows where today sits, so a slip is visible at a glance.

How projects fit the rest

  • Issues are the work inside a project. Set Project on an issue to place it: Issues.
  • Documents hold the plan behind the project: Documents.
  • Chat does the work: Chat and agents.

Next step

Give a project its first issues: Issues shows how to create them and set their properties.
